---- — DUBUQUE (AP) — McGraw-Hill has eliminated the jobs of 27 people at its home office in Dubuque.
Spokesman Brian Belardi told the Telegraph Herald on Wednesday that 33 more people lost their jobs at three other company locations.
He says McGraw-Hill is “really looking at our business and our operations and finding more ways to become efficient.”
Belardi says the workers will receive severance packages.
He also says the layoffs don’t represent an overall workforce reduction. Rather, he says, “Business is evolving, and as we continue on ... it will give us cause to rethink things.”
He says the company remains committed to its Dubuque operation.
