Fulton city officials are gearing up for the city’s annual Christmas Walk.
The event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 2, in downtown Fulton. This year’s theme will be “Candy Cane Lane” featuring 3-foot candy canes decorated by businesses and organizations. The Christmas Walk at Heritage Canyon will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 3, with the illuminated walk from 6 to 8 p.m.
There will be several events throughout the weekend on both days.
Some other events on Dec. 2 include a Santa Claus visit at the warming house at the Masonic Lodge. There also will be a craft project and refreshments.
The Fulton Boy Scouts will host their second annual soup supper during the Christmas Walk from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the River Bend Senior Center. Also a Barbershop Chorus will perform at the Senior Center at 7 p.m.
The seventh annual 2 mile run/walk will start at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 2, with registration at Manny’s Too beginning at 5:30 p.m. Registration forms can also be found online at www.cityoffulton.us.
There will be a craft show sponsored by the River Bend Senior Center on Dec. 2 and 3. The cost for a booth space is $20. To register, contact the River Bend Senior Center at (815) 589-3925.
On Dec. 3, the Fulton Fire Department will sponsor their Breakfast with Santa at the new fire station from 7 to 10 a.m.
The Windmill Cultural Center will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 3 and from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 4.
Schmaling Memorial Library also will offer a children’s story hour and craft from 10:30 a.m. to noon Dec. 3.
Additional downtown activities include an ice-carving demonstration, train rides, the Grinch, live nativity, bake sale, puppet show, food, music and more. Many businesses will be open in downtown Fulton offering refreshments, shopping and entertainment.
