B. Jeanette Isdal Bailey, 92, of Camanche, IA, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at her home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, March 21, 2009 at St. Mark’s Methodist Church in Camanche. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 am until the service hour at the church. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Todd Card, Adam Moore, Devan Hixson, Anna Point, Ben and Josh Point, and Molly Durbin. Honorary pallbearers will be Angela Jacobs, Wade Powell, Shannon Powell, Courtney Petersen, Kyle Petersen, Shane Point, Aaron Melchiori, Niki Melchiori, Lonny Melchiori, and Jeremy Point.

Jeanette Powell was born on February 4, 1917 in Elk River, MN, the daughter of Chester and Birdie (Evermann) Powell. She was educated in the Canadian school system. She married Stephen B. Isdal on October 12, 1935 in Camanche; he died on April 2, 1978. She later married Vernis Bailey on January 3, 1981 in Clinton; he died on March 4, 1991.

She was employed as a clerk at the Camanche Post Office for 17 years. She was a member of St. Mark’s Methodist Church in Camanche and the OES #65 in Clinton.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy L. Isdal of Camanche; one brother: Dale (Barbara) Powell of Camanche; one sister in law: Patricia Powell Locke of Simi Valley. CA; nieces: Gerry (Larry) Hainline, Judy (Don) Pisel, Joan (Bob Grant) Gaylor, Wendy (Tom) Hixson, and Mary (Alan) Petersen; nephews: Tom (Sharon) Powell, Donald “Butch” (Linda) Powell, Stephen Point, Craig (Carol) Point, and Brad (Sara) Point; 12 great nieces, and 12 great nephews.

In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, one great niece, one great nephew, and 2 great great nieces.
