CLINTON — Clinton police and the Clinton County Medical Examiner’s office are investigating the discovery Friday of a body on the flood control levee beneath the U.S. 30 bridge along the Clinton side of the Mississippi River.

According to a Clinton Police Department press release, Clinton police responded to the scene at 8:32 a.m. Friday, after a worker employed by the bridge painting contractor reported finding a dead person on the levee beneath the bridge.

Upon their arrival, the police found a deceased Caucasian male of an undetermined age.

The police and medical examiner staff are investigating the scene to determine the circumstances of the individual’s death and are still making efforts to learn the identity of the deceased.
