A teenager has been arrested in connection with vandalism occurring at Springdale Cemetery throughout the past month.

Clinton police cited Steven Dickens, 17, for first-degree criminal mischief Wednesday. First-degree criminal mischief is a class C felony, carrying as much as 10 years in prison and a fine of between $1,000 and $10,000.

According to a police press release, identification of Dickens was aided by a surveillance video released to the public Tuesday.

Police have investigated several reports of tombstones being knocked over at the cemetery. Police estimated that damage to the grave markers was approximately $10,000.
