A relatively terse agenda awaits the city council for the first meeting of the year Tuesday night.
The council will consider for the final time an ordinance clarifying the language of the city’s calender parking ordinance. The new language will not modify the rules currently in place, but will attempt to clarify some potentially confusing language, according to city attorney Jeff Farwell.
The council will also confirm the council appointments of 2012, and approve an agreement with Creative Outdoor Advertising for bus benches and advertising.
The committee of the whole agenda provides a bit more substance for incoming council members Julie Allesee and John Rowland, and incoming Mayor Mark Vulich to consider.
A Human Resources consulting proposal, referred from the Internal Operations Committee in December, will be considered. The proposal by PJ Greufe and Associates, LLC would call for a $1,500 monthly fee to provide HR services for the city.
The committee will discuss state and federal legislative priorities and a 13th Avenue North Sanitary Sewer Project.
The meeting will end with a closed session personnel issue, pursuant to Iowa Code 21. 5(1)(i).
The council will meet at 7 p.m. at Clinton City Hall.
