CLINTON — Little is known about the circumstances that led to a vehicle flipping over in the 1600 block Camanche Ave. Thursday morning.
According to a police report, two witnesses found the overturned car around 9:30 a.m. The vehicle had overturned onto the sidewalk on the south side of the road and was lying on top of a chain link fence. The vehicle had struck a fire hydrant, breaking it off the ground. The front bumper of the car had been torn off and was lying on the ground several feet away from the vehicle.
Ashley L. Bristol, 22, 1928 Pershing Blvd., was inside the vehicle.
One of the witness cut Bristol free from the seatbelt. The other reported that Bristol was unconscious when they arrived.
The witness said that Bristol was convulsing while they were at the scene of the accident.
Bristol was transported to Mercy North Hospital by a city ambulance.
The police report indicated that Bristol’s vehicle was totaled in the accident. The accident caused an estimated $1,000 in damage to the fire hydrant, and $500 in damage to the fence.
