CLINTON — Cessna enthusiasts have gathered at the Clinton Municipal Airport for this weekend’s International Cessna Fly-In.

The event is coordinated by the Cessna 150-152 club. According to Michael Nass, manager of the Clinton Municipal Airport, nearly 100 Cessna 150s and 152s have gathered at the airport, along with about 140 Cessna enthusiasts.

Nass said that many of the flyers arrived earlier in the week, and more enthusiasts are still arriving. The four-day event includes raffles, flying contests, technical seminars and spin training for the Cessna enthusiasts in attendance.

The event, now in it its seventh year, is eagerly anticipated by club members. The club’s Web site,, even includes a timer counting down the days, hours and minutes to the Fly-In.

Best Western Frontier will cater a breakfast for the enthusiasts this morning from 8 to 11 a.m. Nass said the public is welcome to attend the breakfast or any of the weekend’s other events.

The Cessnas are scheduled to depart Sunday morning upon the conclusion of the weekend’s festivities. Some of the Cessna enthusiasts will likely head to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, in Oshkosh, Wis., which is one of the largest civilian air shows in the United States.
