An event last year that questioned the city of Clinton’s recreational facilities usage has prompted one city official to make sure City Council members have a manual when making decisions on upcoming activities.
Recreation Director Gregg Obren will attempt to solidify what events can take place at city recreational facilities when constructing a usage manual, something not available during the controversial Rumble on the River at Riverview Park decision in April 2009.
First, the council voted against having the Mixed Martial Arts competition at Riverview Park last year. But a few days later, former councilwoman Bette Oakley, reversed her decision, giving the event enough votes to take place at the park.
