CLINTON — No new information is available in regard to the shooting that occurred at 625 Eighth Ave. South around 11 p.m. Monday.

A resident of the home, Dennis G. Douglas, 38, was injured in the incident and transported to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City by helicopter. A hospital spokesperson declined to release any information about Douglas’ condition.

One neighbor said that after the incident, four to six individuals were gathered outside of the home, and he overheard one say, “Give me the gun and run.”

In a release provided by the Clinton Police Department on Tuesday morning, the suspect in the shooting is simply described as a male.

However, neighbors described the individual as a male, possibly Hispanic, wearing a white shirt or jersey and jeans.

Neighbors said that the suspect fled on foot, and a gun was turned over to the police upon their arrival at the crime scene.

Clinton police declined to offer any additional information this morning.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
