CLINTON — Emma E. Gardner, 93, of Clinton, passed away Friday, March 6, 2009, at Mercy Living Center, North Campus. Visitation will be held Monday, March 9, 2009, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 2610 Manufacturing Drive. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at the Clinton Church of Christ with Pastor Ken Greeley officiating. Pallbearers will be members of Clinton Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Emma Edna Gardner was born January 2, 1916, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Clifford and Ida (Herley) Wheeler. She was a 1934 graduate of North High School in Des Moines. Emma married Harold Gardner on August 18, 1940, in Des Moines. She was a former employee of J.C. Penney, working as a clerk and in sales and receiving. She was a member of Clinton Church of Christ.

Her husband, Harold of Clinton; one son, Warren Gardner of Cave Creek, AZ; one sister, Carol Lynch of Des Moines, IA; a brother-in-law, Walter Gardner of Burlington, NC; and many nieces and nephews survive Emma.

Preceding her in death were her parents.
