CLINTON —  The Convention and Visitors Bureau has announced a new “Thing to do with a River View” in Clinton.

The committee will be hosting its first “Finally Friday's” music fest on the riverfront. The festival is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. today and will feature local favorites, Coupe de Ville, the Cadillac of Rock and Roll.

The Jaycees will have a beverage tent, the Frontier will be grilling favorites and entry is free. The organizers will accept donations, but are pleased to bring this fun event free to the community.

The committee organizing the event has additional plans for the future of this event.

It will host the festival on one Friday night per month starting in May and running through September 2010. The theme will vary based on the type of music presented. As an example, Blues can go with barbecue and Country with chicken or Jazz with jambalaya.

The organizers are hoping to use the new dock down on the water if the weather permits and for boaters to be able to enjoy the music as well.
