CLINTON — Clinton firefighters were dispatched to 641 Locust Place for a fire early Friday morning.

The fire department was called to the structure fire at 1:32 a.m. and responded with two engines, one ladder and an ambulance with 12 personnel. The structure on fire was a single-story, single occupancy with a wood frame. Firefighters arrived on scene at 1:37 a.m. and found heavy smoke and fire located at the rear of the structure. Fire crews spent approximately seven minutes gaining control of the fire.

The four occupants of the residence were out upon the arrival of the fire crews.

The crews remained on scene for an additional hour and 15 minutes. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
