CLINTON — Rick Guemmer of Clinton and Doug Haley of DeWitt have recently been elected as co-chairmen of Habitat for Humanity of Clinton County, Inc.

The two will lead a 15-person board as it begins plans to construct the fourth home.

The local chapter is an affiliate of Habitat International, an organization that seeks to work in partnership with families in need of affordable housing.

The organization works closely with local churches, but is non-discriminatory in selecting families and in all of its operations.

Incorporated in 2003, the local chapter constructed its first home in 2006 and has been proceeding with one home per year.

Groundbreaking for the 2009 home is expected in early April and plans are already under way to select a family for 2010.

People or groups that have an interest in working with Habitat, would like to support the work of Habitat, or simply would like to learn more about the organization may contact Guemmer or Haley at 242-4494 or at Box 2282, Clinton, IA 52732.
