CLINTON — Harold John Edens, 88, of Clinton, died Wednesday at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Edens, Gregory and Nathan Starr, Corey Jamison, Ryan Ready, Paula Montgomery, Kimberly Thornton, Tracy Chapla, Christy Stearns and Sundie Zook.

He was born on March 26, 1919 in Clinton to John and Lena (Bondick) Edens. He married Lorraine Shadle on May 30, 1942 in Elvira.

He was employed as an enloader operator in the trucking department with Clinton Corn for 35 years until his retirement in 1979.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Moose Club and the Eagles Club. He also was a member of the Clinton Corn 25 Year Club.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Nancy (Paul) Cromer, Judy (Richard) Ready and Peggy (Robert) Starr, all of Clinton; one daughter-in-law, Billie (William J.) Crigger of Fulton; 11 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
