FULTON, Ill. — Henry C. Meinsma, 89, of Fulton, died Saturday at Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009, at First Reformed Church, Fulton, IL, with the Rev. Edie Lenz, pastor of First Reformed Church, Fulton, IL, officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton, IL.

Memorials may be made to First Reformed Church, Fulton, IL.

He was born December 13, 1919, in Fulton, IL, to Charles and Anne (Wiersema) Meinsma.

He was educated in rural Fulton grade schools.

He married Marian A. Beveroth on February 5, 1941, in Morrison, IL; she survives.

He was engaged in farming in the Malvern area of rural Morrison. He then was employed by the Burlington Northern Railroad. For most of his working career he worked as an auto mechanic for Schuler Motors, Morrison, IL, and Frank Baker Ford Sales, Fulton, IL.

He was a member of First Reformed Church, Fulton, IL, and Double-I Antique Auto Club. Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on and showing his antique cars and trucks.

Survivors include his wife, Marian; two daughters, Betty (Dan) Holesinger, Fulton, IL, and Susan (Dean) Buhlig, North Platt, NE; five sons, Gerald (Marcia) Meinsma, Morrison, IL, Kenneth Meinsma, Morrison, IL, James (Jodi) Meinsma, Middleburgh, NY, Donald Meinsma, Fulton, IL, and Darrell (Sally) Meinsma, Fulton, IL; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn (Orville) Buikema, Clinton, IA; and one brother, Wilbur Meinsma, Albany, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one-daughter-in-law, Betty Jo Meinsma; two sisters, Alice Sikkema-Tiesman and Mary Ann Engelkens; and one brother, John Meinsma.
