DELMAR — The death of a 1-year-old girl last week has been ruled a homicide by the state medical examiner.

Arryana JoLee Clark, of Delmar, died last Wednesday at a hospital in DeWitt.

Clinton County sheriff’s officials responding to a 911 call from the home of her parents, Marvin Clark and Jessica Barnhart-Clark, in the 1800 block of 270th Street, rural Delmar, found the injured infant, Sheriff Rick Lincoln said.

The 911 call was made about 6:30 p.m.

The child died as a result of head injuries, said Dr. Julia Goodin, the state’s chief medical examiner. She declined to be more specific about the head injuries or what caused them.

The investigation into the baby’s death was continuing, Lincoln said Monday. He also declined to release additional details about the circumstances of her death.

Clinton County Attorney Mike Wolf said Monday he hadn’t received the autopsy report, and no charges had been filed.
