HOMOSASSA, Fla. — Kai John Hansen, age 68, of Homosassa, FL, formerly of Clinton, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2009. As he requested, Kai was cremated and a memorial service is being planned for a later date in New Jersey and Iowa. Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family with local arrangements. Kai was born on July 8, 1940, in Clinton, IA, the son of Kai and Frieda (Sack) Hansen. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1958, received his AA Degree from Clinton Community College and his BA Degree from State College of Iowa in Cedar Falls. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and while in military intelligence worked out of the Pentagon and in Korea, Vietnam and Guam, retiring after 20 years of service with the rank of major at Fort Monmouth, NJ. He later worked for many years as the director of security for Telos, a civilian company with government contracts, also located in Fort Monmouth.

Kai is survived by his son, Thor Hansen and his wife, Michelle, and their sons, Travis and Carter from Sterling, VA; his daughter, JoAnn Hansen and her daughter, Jasmine, of Eatontown, NJ; and his sister, Ann Meyer of Clinton, IA, and her family, Eric Meyer of Spring, TX, Clint Meyer of Dallas, TX, Kay Leary of Waterloo, IA, Paula Wilson of Castle Rock, CO, and Neal Meyer, Centralia, MO.
