DEWITT — Leanne E. (Mrs. Leonard) Sellnau, 78, DeWitt, died Thursday evening, March 26, 2009, at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

Leanne was born March 25, 1931 in Lowden, Iowa, to Paul and Selma (Licht) Kruckenberg. She married Leonard Sellnau, August 25, 1957, in Lowden. The couple farmed at rural Bryant, Iowa, all of their married life, until Leonard preceded Leanne in death in 1987. At that time she moved to DeWitt, where she has resided since.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Charlotte, and its Ladies Aid and Fellowship Club. Leanne greatly enjoyed gardening and flowers. Leanne looked forward to spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, Russell Sellnau and his wife, Kathy, Bryant, Sandra Sellnau, Cedar Rapids, Darrell Sellnau, DeWitt, and David Sellnau and his wife, Peggy, Charlotte; grandchildren, Andrew and Derek Sellnau, Nicholas, Alex, Daniel and Lucas Sellnau; brothers and sisters, Merlon Kruckenberg, Norbert Kruckenberg, Lowden, Lorna (Waldemar) Bergdolt, Perryville, Missouri, George Kruckenberg, West Des Moines, Iowa, Robert Kruckenberg and Roberta Kruckenberg, Lowden; nieces and nephews.

Preceding Leanne in death in addition to her husband, Leonard, were her parents.

Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2009 at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2009 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Charlotte. The Rev. Terry Ellis will officiate. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
