CLINTON — Clinton firefighters are stepping forward to help one of their own in the wake of a house fire that broke out Monday afternoon.

Clinton Firefighters Association No. 609 has established a benefit account for Greg Graf and his family, whose home and property at 708 Park Place sustained about $115,000 damage in the blaze that broke out shortly before 6 p.m.

Graf was an engineer with the fire department for 28 years and recently began a disability retirement.

Local 609 has established the account to cover any unforeseen expenses while the Graf family works to overcome the tragedy.

Donations may be dropped off at any Citizens First Bank in Clinton or mailed to the Citizens First Bank main branch at 1442 Lincoln Way, Clinton, IA 52732.

No one was injured in the fire. A cause has not yet been determined, fire officials said this morning.

Clinton High School also is planning a clothing drive for the fire victims. More information will be released after plans are developed.
