NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Lois Naeve Mackeprang, 90, of Nashville, TN, entered the presence of her Lord on March 22, 2009. She was receiving hospice care and died in her home. She was the daughter of Anna Gehlsen and Detlef Peter Naeve Sr. A graduate of Miles High School in 1937, she attended Scoville Business College in Clinton, Iowa. She married Ray Mackeprang on November 23, 1939. She was employed by the Rock Island Arsenal in Rock Island, IL, and later worked for Augustana College. After moving to Sterling, IL, she worked as a legal secretary. After the death of her husband, she served as a missionary at a Presbyterian Hospital in Korea. As a resident of Nashville, TN, for 34 years, she was active in her church and community. Having the heart of a servant, she was involved in a women’s prison ministry, in inner-city work, the Nashville Rescue Mission and coordinated her church’s clothes closet ministry.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Mackeprang Martin and son-in-law, Jerry, of Nashville, TN; granddaughter, Erin Martin Leyen of Charlotte, NC; and grandson, Derek Mackeprang Martin of Nashville, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and two brothers.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2009, at the Pape Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at the Andover Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home in Clinton.
