STERLING, Ill. — The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, the Illinois State Police and the Sterling and Rock Falls police departments teamed up to conduct operation Concentrating On Problem Situations details from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday.

The officials’ detail consisted of a group of law enforcement officers from each department working together enforcing traffic and criminal laws in an effort to reduce traffic crashes. Officers issued 52 written warnings and made 32 arrests during the detail. The 32 arrests included: four for possession of cannabis, two for possession of drug paraphernalia, eight arrests for no proof of vehicle insurance, four for seat belt violations, one for equipment violations, one for driving on a suspended driver’s license, one for driving on a revoked driver’s license, two for speeding violations, six for other traffic violations and three arrests on warrants.

The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois State Police are planning several more operations during the next few months in Whiteside County.
