CLINTON — Approximately 95 high school students and adults participated in the annual Prince of Peace College Prep Service Day on April 24.

Students completed chores for 15 non-profit and community agencies, having volunteered more than 425 hours. Work duties and sites included outside cleanup for the Arch Inc., YMCA/YWCA, Eagle Point Nursing Home, the Arboretum, Clinton County Historical Society, Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce, Clinton Pony League fields and others. Inside projects for the United Way of Clinton County, Discovery Center and Mount St. Clare Speech and Hearing were also completed.

Sharon Roling, director of Student Services and Campus Minister, organized Service Day.

“Caring for others and serving our community are integral parts of school life at Prince of Peace Schools,” she said. “This day is a way to have the students live those values. Our students get to see, firsthand, the impact their service has on the community. We hope it gives them a sense of civic responsibility and pride.”
