The Clinton School Board will meet tonight, leading off with a public hearing on the fiscal year 2013 certified budget. A second public hearing will follow, this one on 2012 building improvements.
The regular agenda includes consideration of an agreement for cooperative student teaching with Iowa Wesleyan College and an agreement for field experience with Luther College.
The board will hear a financial report from Chief Financial Officer Jan Culbertson and will have a budget discussion, consider the certified budget's approval and possibly approve the 101 percent guarantee resolution.
The board will hear a Hall/Wall of Fame update from Gary Lueders, the first update on this project. The goal is to have a protocol in place for recognition of students and contributors to Clinton High School. That protocol is expected to be in place at the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year.
The board will consider renewal of the cooperative athletic sharing agreement for boys swimming with Central DeWitt, Camanche and Northeast school districts and Prince of Peace for 2012-2013, Camanche School District for boys soccer for 2012-2013, Northeast School District for boys tennis for 2012-2013, and Prince of Peace for football, wrestling, boys swimming and boys tennis for 2012-2013.
Prince of Peace also is requesting renewal of the cooperative athletic sharing agreement for girls softball, girls tennis, girls soccer and girls swimming and diving for 2012-2013, the Northeast School District is requesting renewal for girls tennis and swimming and diving and girls soccer for 2012-2013 and Central DeWitt school district is requesting renewal for girls swimming and diving for 2012-2013.
The district also has made slight modifications to the policy that affects its employees in regard to maintaining a drug-free culture.The board will consider that policy tonight.
The board also will accept donations from Ashford University for $1,200 for the Student Adventures After School Program for the 2012 summer program and from Clinton National Bank in the amount of $100 for summer program field trips.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Bluff Elementary School.
