CLINTON — Stanley “Rex” Carson, 65, of Clinton, Iowa, died Monday, March 9, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton. Services to celebrate his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 13th at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois, where military honors will be conducted by Davenport American Legion Post 26. Memorials may be made to the family.

Rex was born in 1943 in Owensville, Indiana, to Dallas and Violet Carson. During the Vietnam era, he served with the U.S. Army in Germany. He married Judy Comstock on December 4, 1982, in Davenport. Rex was a machine operator for Warren Packaging, Davenport, and later for MB Box Co., Fulton, Illinois, retiring in 2003. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Clinton.

Survivors include his wife, Judy; son, Allan Langbhen of Arizona; sisters, Velma Westphal of Davenport and Irene Cutler of Mesquite, Texas; and brothers, Dallas Carson of Durant, Iowa, Morris Carson of Marion, Indiana, and Jimmy Carson of Silvis, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Hubbard (2004); his parents; a brother, David Carson; and sisters, Lillian Bowling and Amy Mahrenholz.
