CLINTON – Two people and one firefighter were injured in a fire that left a Clinton home a total loss Saturday afternoon.
The Clinton Fire Department was dispatched to 702 S. Seventh St. for a house on fire. They responded with 11 personnel, three engines and two ambulances.
Upon arrival, there was heavy smoke and flames showing, according to Clinton Fire Lt. Richard Johannsen.
The CFD was assisted by the Fulton, Ill., and Camanche fire departments and Fulton ambulance personnel.
All fire and hot spots were extinguished in two hours, Johannsen said.
Fulton ambulance transported two patients to Mercy North Hospital. Fire officials did not release the identities of the patients or their conditions.
One Clinton firefighter was injured during the firefighting efforts. According to Battalion Chief Frederick Roling, the firefighter was treated and released.
Roling said the home is a total loss.
The fire remains under investigation.
