Camanche Food Pride under new management

CAMANCHE — The Camanche Food Pride grocery store is now under new, local management.

Harry Patel and his wife, Rina, took over the Food Pride on Sept. 21. Since that time, Harry said he has been working to make the store a great, local business.

Harry said most of his family have their own businesses. He decided he also wanted to have a business so he left his software programming job and decided to move to Camanche. Since taking over the Food Pride, Harry has made some small changes. He said the first thing he did was to get rid of any out of date or questionable food items in the store.

“To sell people fresh food, that’s my goal,” said Harry. Harry, who is also an electrical engineer, plans some other small improvements to the store, such as making the entire building brighter.

Harry said his main goal is to make the store a “Camanche” store. He said all of his employees are from Camanche. He also lives in Camanche, something that Harry says allows him to better serve his customers. Harry said either he or his wife are always available to speak to the customers and address any concerns they may have. He said he is interested in people’s input about the store.

“I want to support the local people,” said Harry.

Harry said he supports Camanche businesses by shopping local. The store will also be offering door to door delivery for seniors. Harry said he wants to offer as much service and help to the community as he can.

Harry said the business is also a real family store. He said their children Harsh, who is in seventh grade and Dev, who is in fourth grade, also help out.

The Food Pride is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Harry encourages people to come in. He said the store needs the support of Camanche citizens to help make it a great local store.
