CAMANCHE — Callaway Kinney hit a sacrifice fly to right to score the winning run in the top of the eighth inning Tuesday as Central DeWitt edged Camanche 3-2 in a non-conference softball contest.
Katie Irwin hit a solo home run for the Sabers, and Kalyn Bowen drove in the other run for Central DeWitt.
Libby Schnoor doubled and drove in both Camanche runs. Lindsey Grams and Kylie Vogel had the other two Camanche hits off winning pitcher Hannah Nieman, who fanned four.
Losing pitcher Morgan Mussmann allowed five hits, while striking out six.

DAVENPORT — Clinton found the batting strokes it has been looking for, putting up 30 runs Monday in a doubleheader sweep of Davenport Central in Mississippi Athletic Conference softball.
The River Queens, shut out in their first four MAC games, beat Central 14-1 and 16-3. Clinton improved to 4-9, 2-4 conference.
“Good pitching in both games,” Clinton coach Emily Hoague said. “Great adjustments at the plate. Solid defense.”
