Another arrest in Camanche meth case

CLINTON — Another arrest has been made in connection to a Camanche methamphetamine case.

Clinton police arrested Tonya M. Palmer, 33, 1217 S. 22nd St., on a warrant for conspiracy to manufacture meth and possession of meth precursors Saturday morning at her residence. According to court documents, the warrant was signed Tuesday.

Camanche police began investigating Nathan T. Green and Kimberly A. Lane in January, according to court affidavits. The investigating officer observed suspicious pseudophedrine purchases and three trash pulls from their residence produced a number of items consistent with manufacturing meth, according to court documents.

Camanche and Clinton police officers conducted a search warrant on May 17 at 620 Third Ave., Camanche. Nathan T. Green, Lane, Charles W. McKenrick, David P. Shamp and Seth A. Green were charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine in excess of 10 grams, possession of meth precursors and child endangerment.

District Court Judge Mary Howes accepted plea agreements Thursday from Shamp and McKenrick. McKenrick pleaded guilty to possession of meth precursors and child endangerment and Shamp pleaded guilty to possession of meth precursors. A plea hearing is scheduled on July 11 for Lane.

Court documents reflect Palmer told Camanche Police Sgt. Richard E. Schmitz Jr. that she purchased pseudophedrine for Lane and Nathan Green more than 25 times, during an interview on May 25. These purchases totaled more than 70 grams of the drug. According to the affidavit, she obtained meth from them in return.

Palmer's preliminary hearing is set for 8:30 a.m. July 9.
