---- — CAMANCHE — Volunteers raised $32,000 last weekend for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Camanche MDA fundraiser organizer Cheryl Paasch said the event beat its total from last year by almost $3,000. In the 25 years the event has been held, it has raised a total of $415,000 for MDA.
The weekend-long fundraiser included a hog roast dinner, gift basket raffle, cake auction, silent auction, bag board tournament and wine tasting. Karlee Low won the Kiss the Pig contest.
The fundraiser also featured a three-day basketball tournament. The tournament results were:
• First place, open division: Seeser Crane — Sean Seeser, Chris Powers, Chad Delzell, Nick Lawrence, Josh Davis, Mike Halac, Jalen Jones, Cody Adams and Ben Erwin.
• Second place, open division: Team AUsome — Byron Emerson, Josh Pickens, Daniel Joiner, Pete Tanzillo, Thaddeus Perry, Tim Hube and Vesteinn Sveinsson.
• First place, B-division: Yoli BBS — Miquel Trevino, Rick Fountain, Keith Furness, Roy Baker, Mike McCann, Lou Behl, Dustin Cooley and Amin Ekalino.
• Second place, B-division: Eastern Iowa Trucking — Todd Borrison, Marty Schnoor, Charly Bigwood, Derik Kibler, Andy Eberhart and Mitch Roth.
