CLINTON — A Camanche man faces a felony charge in connection with a robbery that occurred in July 2012.
Clinton police arrested Kyle J. Puckett, 22, on Thursday on a warrant for first-degree robbery. According to court records, the warrant was issued July 26 for his alleged role in the robbery of Sebastian Wade on July 20, 2012.
According to court documents, Wade answered the door to his apartment — believing it to be a friend — and was rushed by three assailants who assaulted him and threatened him with something he believed to be a gun. One of the assailants deployed a Taser on the victim and they proceeded to take a quantity of cash and other items from Wade and a guest in his home, according to the affidavit.
Court documents continue that an individual arrested and convicted for participating in the robbery identified Puckett on Dec. 5, 2012, as one of the people involved in the planning and execution of the robbery. He was also identified as the person who deployed the Taser, court documents state. Wade picked Puckett out of a photo lineup March 20.
A Class B felony, first-degree robbery can carry as much as 25 years in prison. Puckett is being held in the Clinton County Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond. His preliminary hearing is set for 8:30 a.m. Friday.
