Three locals face felonies for meth

CLINTON — Three Clinton residents are facing felony charges for manufacturing methamphetamine.

Amanda K. Mussmann, 22, Michael L. Payne, 23, and Rhonda F. Scheeberger, 48, are all charged with conspiracy to manufacture meth, following search warrants executed by Clinton police last week.

According to court documents, police executed a search warrant at 440 11th Ave. South, apartment two, where Payne and Mussmann reside. The search revealed a one-pot meth lab in the apartment, as well as a drain opener, coffee filters, coffee grinders with white residue inside, salt, a soda bottle lid with a piece of plastic tubing protruding from it and an empty blister pack from a box of pseudoephedrine.

The affidavit continues that Mussmann and Payne allegedly both admitted to purchasing pseudoephedrine for the purchase of manufacturing meth. Mussmann also allegedly admitted to being present on 10 to 12 occasions while Payne and other subjects manufactured meth in the apartment.

Police also executed a search warrant at the home of Schneeberger, 621 Kenilworth Court, and located several one-pot meth labs, according to court documents. Police also found empty blister packs from pseudoephedrine boxes, lye, cold packs, drain cleaner, lighter fluid, coffee filters, packaging material, a digital scale, bottles used as HCL generators and other items.

Coffee filters containing possible meth residue were found in Schneeberger’s purse, according to court documents. She allegedly admitted to purchasing pseudoephedrine and being present in her home when other people manufactured meth.

Payne is currently being held in the Clinton County jail on a $10,000 bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Friday.

Schneeberger and Mussmann have been released from the Clinton County jail. Schneeberger’s next court appearance is Thursday, March 6. Mussmann’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 11.
