UPDATE: Police make arrest in Clinton pawn shop robbery

CLINTON — An arrest has been made in the armed robbery that occurred at the Library Pawn Shop in Clinton on Thursday.

According to Clinton Police Captain Tom Bohle, Darrell Thomas, 26, was arrested.

Thomas’ arrest card shows a Chicago address, but he has previously had a Clinton address, Bohle said.  

At 12:58 p.m. Thursday, officers from the Clinton Police Department responded to the Library Pawn Shop, 901 N. Second St., in reference to a report of armed robbery. 

According to a press release from Capt. Bill Greenwalt, officers arrived on the scene and met with an employee of the business, who reported being robbed. The suspect fled prior to the officers’ arrival.

10/18/2012 WQAD Report: Police hope someone can help them identify and find a man who allegedly robbed the Library Pawn Shop in Clinton.

The robbery was reported just before 1 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2012. 

An employee of the shop told police they had been robbed by a man armed with a weapon. The suspect fled the business prior to an officer's arrival.

The suspect was described as an African American man in his twenties or thirties, wearing a dark-colored jacket or hoodie. 

No injuries were reported.
