“That does not take away the seriousness of the situation,” Lawson said. “I want to make sure there is a lot hanging over your head.”
He sentenced her to no more than 10 years in prison for the first charge and no more than five years for each of the other two charges. However, the incarceration was suspended.
Devries must complete three years probation and reside and complete all treatment at Hightower Place. She will remain in the Clinton County Jail until a bed is available.
Lawson also imposed a $1,000 and two $750 fines. All but one of the $750 fines were suspended. She must pay $360 in court-appointed attorney fees and her driver’s license is revoked 180 days.
