The Odeon nightclub, 80 25th Ave. North, was destroyed by fire overnight Sunday.
Clinton Fire Chief Mike Brown said the fire department received the call around 2 a.m. When crews responded, the fire had already caused extensive damage.
"It's an old building and the fire was already in the void space," Brown said.
Crews were still working on the fire at 9 a.m. and Brown said would likely continue working throughout the day.
No one was injured in the fire. The club owners, Gary Sawyer and Gordon Carroll, were in their apartment attached to the club at the time of the blaze. The two were alerted by a fire alarm and exited the building.
There was no damage to the surrounding buildings.
Brown said the cause of the fire is still unknown.
