---- — CLINTON — A Clinton school bus was involved in a collision with a Jeep at approximately 7:25 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Second Avenue South and Fifth Street.
Two students, a driver and a monitor, were on the bus at the time of the accident. The students and the driver were not injured and the monitor was being looked at as she felt sore from the impact.
The driver of the Jeep, Elpidio Cuatlacuatl, was cited at the scene for driving while revoked, a serious misdemeanor.
The students’ parents were notified and the students were taken to school.
The bus received minor scrapes along one side.
Clinton School District Superintendent Deb Olson said when she arrived at the scene the Clinton Fire Department and Clinton Police Department had the scene contained and were cleaning up the intersection.
“We are fortunate and blessed in having such responsive emergency personnel that are there when situations take place,” Olson said in a written statement issued Wednesday.
