Clark pleads guilty in robbery case

CLINTON — One of two men accused of an Aug. 27 robbery at Wild Rose Casino and Resort pleaded guilty to second-degree robbery Thursday.

Destin R. Clark, 18, of Neenah, Wis., told Judge Mark Cleve that he flashed a handgun at an individual to make him give him money. A class C felony, it carries as much as 10 years in prison. Cleve warned the defendant that since the charge is a forceable felony, a suspended sentence is not possible and he will be required to serve at least 70 percent of his sentence before he can be released.

Clark originally was charged with first-degree robbery and possession of a firearm as a felon. Robbery in the first degree is a class B felony, carrying as much as 25 years in prison.

According to court documents, Clark and Dylon White, 18, were arrested on Aug. 29 in the 2900 block of U.S. 67 in Folletts in connection with the armed robbery. Clark admitted in court to approaching a 36-year-old male in the area of the Clinton Lawn Cemetery, demanding cash. The defendent continued that when the man did not have any money, he took him to Wild Rose’s ATM.

“I had no right to ask money from him,” Clark admitted in court.

His sentencing date is set for 10 a.m. on Dec. 5.
