CLINTON — This weekend the public is invited to make the holidays better for nearly 400 area children through the Caring Tree.
The Caring Tree will be at the Clinton Hy-Vee from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. It will be decorated with special tags featuring the first name, age and gender of each child.
People encouraged to select a tag and purchase a gift costing $15 to $20 for that child. The gift should be wrapped with the identifying tag attached to the outside of the package and returned to the YWCA front desk by Dec. 1.
Gifts will distributed at a special holiday party on Dec. 14.
This year marks the 29th year the Caring Tree has worked to pair the generosity of the people in the community with children who are less fortunate.
The Clinton YWCA, the Clinton Kiwanis Club and Wa-Tan-Ye are this year’s organizing sponsors.
