Man admits to selling, sharing marijuana

---- — CLINTON — A Camanche man admitted Thursday to selling and sharing marijuana.

Jerry E. Hansen, 51, pleaded guilty Thursday to possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a Class D felony. The charge could carry as much as five years in prison and a fine of between $750 and $7,500.

However, Assistant County Attorney Amanda Myers will recommend a suspended sentence and the suspension of his driver's license.

Hansen was charged in connection with the execution of a search warrant on Oct. 24, 2013, at his residence, 1518 Fifth Ave., Camanche. According to court documents, Hansen admitted to having marijuana in his possession and within his home which he sold after taking some of it for himself.

Police found a large baggie with three individually wrapped baggies in the garage, which contained a green leafy substance testing positive as marijuana, according to the affidavit.

Hansen's sentencing is set for 10 a.m. May 8. At that time, Myers is expected to dismiss charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at that time.
