CLINTON — Clinton Police are asking for help in identifying an individual suspected of tipping over tombstones at Springdale Cemetery.
Throughout the last month, Groundskeeper Darrell Mueller has been reporting vandalism to the cemetery, with gravestones pushed over. He previously stated that his crew spends hours putting the gravestones back.
The police department reported in a release Tuesday that officers are investigating six separate complaints of the headstones being tipped over. The amount of tombstones tipped each time has increased, according to Mueller.
Now, the police department is releasing a small section of video evidence, discovered as a result of the investigation. The video shows a suspect knocking down a tombstone and walking off. To view the video, log on to www.clintonherald.com.
The investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity is asked to contact the police at 243-1458 or Clinton County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-883-8015.
