WELTON — Charges are pending against a Miles man who was involved in a hit and run accident on US 61 on Thursday.
Jade D. Brenke, 36, of Miles, allegedly pulled out in front of a Ford sedan driven by Cole B. Clearman, 18, of Bettendorf while headed east on 190th Street around 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
Clearman was driving south on US 61 and attempted to move to the middle lane to avoid hitting Brenke’s Hyundai sedan, but was unable to avoid the collision.
Brenke then left the scene going north on US 61, according to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.
Clearman suffered non-incapaciting injuries as a result of the accident and was not transported to a hospital.
Brenke faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident – damages to vehicle and failure to report, driving while license suspended, cancelled or revoked and failure to yield upon entering a highway.
