City deer season begins Sept. 14
CLINTON — The City of Clinton Deer Management Program is now entering its seventh year.
The Clinton Deer Management Committee, along with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, has developed a deer management plan for the city of Clinton again this year. This year’s season will run Sept. 14 through Jan. 19.
Deer Management Packets can be picked up in the Grounds & Facilities Division Administrative Office located at the Clinton Water Pollution Control Plant, 1901 Beaver Channel Parkway, beginning Aug. 12 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Enclosed in the packet are an application form, a copy of the city ordinance, map of the management zone and the management program.
Proficiency testing is required to obtain a city permit. The testing will take place Saturday, Aug. 24, and Saturday, Aug. 31 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Ericksen Community Center (by the pond), 1401 11th Ave. North, or by appointment with the Grounds & Facilities Division.
