CLINTON — The cause of a Tuesday morning coal fire at the Archer Daniels Midland Co-Gen plant is still undetermined.
Clinton firefighters were dispatched at 10:06 a.m. to the plant for a report of possible hot spots in the coal conveyor system. The department responded with two ladder trucks, one engine, two ambulances and 11 personnel, with four addition off-duty firefighters called in to assist. Fire crews remained on the scene for 2 1/2 hours.
According to a press release, the fire was confined to the conveyor system in the plant. No injuries were reported.
