AT RANDOM: Dr. Amy Kibler

CLINTON — Dr. Amy Kibler is settling into her new position, providing family medicine at Medical Associates.

Born Amy Young, she was raised in Preston and graduated from Preston High School. Throughout high school, she was involved in athletics, including basketball. She continued playing the sport at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala.

Since she was a child, Amy was always interested in medicine. She looked up to her own family physician in Preston and liked the idea of taking care of people.

Amy has been completing her residency since graduating from medical school three years ago. During this time, she has been working plenty of crazy hours.

“I think one of the hard parts is balancing work and family,” Amy said. “Yeah, I think that’s the most challenging thing, just making sure you have time for both.”

Amy and her husband of six years have a 3-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son. Most of her free time is spent with her family. She is happy to be in an office where she can regulate her own hours.

Amy moved to Princeton three months ago and started at Medical Associates last month. She liked the idea of coming back to the area where she grew up.

“I kind of always thought of that as something I wanted to do, growing up around here. I wanted to come back,” Amy said. “So I like that some of my patients I already know or know their families.”

She added that the area meant so much to her. She wants to give something back.

Since settling into the practice, Amy has received a lot of positive responses. She has already seen several people she knows. She is looking forward to meeting other families from the area.
