Service agency fair set

CLINTON — Clinton Community College will host a Social Service Agency Information Fair at the school’s auditorium this month.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18.

CCC Dean of Students Lisa Miller said the school enjoys showcasing agencies to make students successful.

“Our student’s lives are very busy, and we want to assist them with the tools they need to be successful,” Miller said “It is difficult to be successful when you are focused on services for yourself and your family. We started the Social Services Agency Fair years ago and students found it helpful to learn the services available in the community, so we continue to host it on a yearly basis.”

Representatives from area agencies will be available to share information about the services they offer, as well as answer any questions about their services. Students from Clinton Community College and the general public are invited to attend.

A Nook Tablet will be given away to one CCC student who attends the fair. Several of the agencies also will host drawings for free prizes.

The agencies represented at the fair include American Red Cross, Area Substance Abuse Council, Bridgeview Community Mental Health Center, Child Care Resource and Referral of SE Iowa, Clinton MTA, Families Finding their Voices, Hillcrest Family Services, Information Referral and Assistance Services, I-Smile, Lutheran Services in Iowa, Mississippi Bend AEA, Nurse-Family Partnership Program, Proteus, Inc., Women’s Health Services and the YWCA DV/SA RC and TH.
