CLINTON — A rural Delmar man is dead after being pinned in a corn planter.
Clinton County sheriff's deputies today reported that deputies were dispatched to a farm field located in the 2000 block of 170th Street for a subject pinned in a corn planter at 10:17 p.m. Thursday.
Upon the arrival of emergency crews, a male subject was found lying on the ground next to a tractor and planter. The victim was identified as Donald Cain, 75, of rural Delmar. Cain was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Maquoketa Ambulance, Lost Nation First Responders, the Iowa State Patrol and the Clinton County Medical Examiner’s Office.
