---- — CLINTON — At approximately 10:58 a.m. this morning, Clinton Police responded to a report of a deceased body discovered in the woods north of 36th Avenue North and McKinley Street, Clinton, which is located near the Mississippi River's Lyons Chute. A citizen who was mushroom hunting discovered the body, according to a press release issued by the department.
Identity of the deceased is being withheld pending positive identification and family notification. It was removed from the area and will be sent to the Iowa State Medical Examiner's Office where an autopsy will be conducted.
The case remains under investigation by Clinton County Medical Examiner's Office and Clinton Police Department, according to CPD Captain William Greenwalt
