Courts: Deferred judgment in assault case

---- — CLINTON — A Wheatland man received a deferred judgment for assaulting his wife.

Terry D. Hagg, 45, of Wheatland, pleaded guilty to domestic abuse assault and was ordered to complete 12 months of probation.

He also must pay a $625 civil penalty, complete 30 hours of community service and complete the Batterers Education Program.

A no-contact order was cancelled.

According to court documents, Clinton County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded at 7 p.m. Sept. 6 to 105 S. Main St, Wheatland, for a report of an unconscious man.

The affidavit continues that after deputies spoke to Hagg, he admitted that he and his wife had an argument that turned physical.

The affidavit continues that after the defendant’s wife returned home, the couple fought and he head-butted her, breaking her nose.

After this, the altercation continued with more fighting occurring in their bedroom.

Hagg admitted to holding her down by the neck, according to the affidavit.
