CLINTON — The Felix Adler Children’s Discovery Center will host its annual pasta dinner fundraiser on Sunday, Nov. 19, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Rastrelli’s Tuscany Room. The event will also include a silent auction with baskets and individual items for holiday gift-giving. Auction items are now on display at the Discovery Center and bidding has commenced.
All proceeds will go toward educational programming and events at the non-profit children’s museum.
According to Sarah Lind, Discovery Center executive director, the event is an important one for the children’s museum.
“The Discovery Center is a very special place in Clinton for families to play and learn together, and it takes a lot of teamwork and community support,” said Lind. “We are very thankful to Rastrelli’s for providing this annual opportunity to come in and ‘take over’ their Tuscany Center for our dinner. And the auction would not be possible without the many area business owners who have donated items for the auction. This is a great once-a-year opportunity to enjoy some delicious pasta and do some easy holiday shopping for a good cause.”
On the menu will be Rastrelli’s famous sauce atop penne pasta with a choice of red meat sauce or white alfredo, choice of tossed or cabbage salad, the restaurant’s homemade bread, a variety of delicious desserts, and coffee, tea or lemonade. Carry outs will be available.
The silent auction is a great place to shop for holiday gifts. Items are currently on display at the Discovery Center and bidding is open. The bidding will conclude at the pasta dinner, at 7 p.m. Featured items include gifts for children, home and holiday decor, date-night packages, clothing, restaurant meals, pet care and car care, gift certificates to many businesses in Lyons and Clinton, Showboat tickets, Gateway Contemporary Ballet tickets, artisan wines, American Pickers items, movie tickets and more.
Advanced pasta dinner tickets are $8 for adults and teens ($9 at the door), $4 for children 3 to 12 years, and free for children 2 and younger. Tickets are available by calling the Children’s Discovery Center at 243-3600, or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Tickets can also be purchased at Clinton Printing and Déjà vu Furniture & Accessories.
The Children’s Discovery Center is located at 332 Eighth Ave. South, in downtown Clinton, and is open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sundays from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
