CLINTON — YWCA Clinton recently was awarded a $43,500 grant from the Clinton County Development Association. The grant, along with matching funds also raised by the organization, will be combined to purchase new weight-training and cardio equipment to enhance YWCA Clinton’s fitness programming.
“We are really grateful for the support of the CCDA,” said YWCA Clinton’s Health & Wellness Director Stephanie Sommers. “The equipment purchased with this grant will ensure our fitness program is able to provide our members with the tools they need to reach their fitness goals. Not everyone realizes that our fitness memberships help fuel our mission programs like our Rapid Rehousing and Homelessness Prevention programs. This new equipment will help us meet our members’ needs and, in turn, the needs of our community.”
A complete list and descriptions of the new equipment is available at YWCA Clinton and includes a new half rack, dumbbell set, arc trainer, stair stepper and elliptical, among others. The equipment is due to be delivered in mid-December.
“We are really excited about the timing of our new equipment, which when coupled with the addition of our new Les Mills fitness classes, will make a really exciting and fun January here at YWCA Clinton,” said Sommers.
